purpose: We all have one

a quote wallpaper

“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.”- Mark Twain

If you are reading this, it means you are alive. If you are alive there is a reason for your existence. PURPOSE is not something many men talk about or discuss amongst each other but it is imperative that each man searches his own soul, tap in with GOD, and discovers their purpose for existence.

The Britannica dictionary defines Purpose as the reason why something is done or used: the aim or intention of something. This definition should get us thinking. Each man should ask the question, Why did God create me?, What is the aim or intention of my existence?

Let’s answer some questions

DO YOU HAVE A PURPOSE?

Absolutely YES! If you are here on earth, you were created by God and your life serves a purpose. It does not matter how dark or how low you may have gotten. As long as you have air in your lungs God has a plan and purpose for your life. You can discover your purpose by having an intimate relationship with God. If you walk into a store and see a unique gadget you may hop on your phone and Google the name to understand what the creator intended the creator gadget to be used for. In the same way, we are to tap in with our creator to figure out our purpose.

Isaiah 43:7 says “Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him” This verse tells us about our primary general purpose as Kingdom Men. Our main purpose is to bring glory to the God who created us. We ought to bring glory to God in everything we do, from the small tasks to the big tasks.

WHAT’S YOUR UNIQUE PURPOSE?

Now we know the general purpose of a kingdom man. Each man has his ordained purpose that he is tasked to accomplish while here on earth. Once you are tapped in with God in a genuine way, God will reveal your purpose to you. When you don’t have a relationship with God you can easily waste time and energy running around trying to understand your purpose. This could be draining mentally, physically, and spiritually. You will know when your thoughts, actions, moves, and plays (whatever you want to call them) align with your purpose because it will give you such a sense of satisfaction and gratification that you will be hopeful and at peace with the activities you are involved with and your decisions. Your purpose may or may not align with your job, it may or may not pay you, but it will always leave you satisfied.

If you find yourself engaged in an activity where you’re impacting others, enriching their lives, and experiencing a sense of fulfillment as if you were receiving a paycheck, even though it’s not a monetary compensation, chances are, you’ve stumbled upon a purpose-driven endeavor.”

There is something about fulfilling your God-given purpose that makes your life more worthwhile. Your purpose will always be bigger than you. The results of living in your purpose could possibly outlive you. Most importantly, you will do the activities tied to your purpose regardless of financial gain.

So to all my men out there. Go forth and discover your purpose. If you have already then continue living on PURPOSE. For those still trying to discover, keep praying, and keep asking God for your specific purpose. In the meantime, fulfill your general purpose as a Kingdom man, serve others, and bring glory to God in everything you do. Don’t let fear of failure or your insecurities keep you from fulfilling your purpose. Your purpose is yours and with it, you can contribute a great deal to the kingdom of God and here on earth.

Each man has a God-given purpose. Comment your thoughts below!

[…] Every man should strive to become the most authentic version of themselves. Your most authentic self is the version of yourself that God has called you to be. If you can become that version and discover your purpose – the reason for being on this earth – and live in that purpose, you will find happiness. To discover yourself your most authentic self, you may need to spend more time alone with your thoughts, maybe even writing journaling your thoughts and feelings. The more you do this, the more you get to understand your strengths and weaknesses. The more you know yourself the better you understand what is truly valuable to you. Engage in activities like journaling, meditation, or seeking guidance from mentors or therapists to explore different aspects of yourself. You should be willing to do what’s necessary to give your best in every moment. He who discovers his purpose has found happiness. Find my past blog post on purpose here. […]

Very timely message bro! Well written and I pray it helps others discover their purpose which by the way isn’t a one-time event for many. The journey to discovery takes place step by step, day by day but the assuredness you experinece when you’ve “arrived” at your destiny is beyond exhilarating as you indicated. Thanks for sharing this post.

A refreshing article. Something all men need to hear and know. Although I fully agree with this article not all may, due to religious beliefs or personal reasons. That being said it is still pleasing to hear and read a passage so insightful relating to men. Keep this up.
